Tour Astronómico en Vicuña
Descubre el cielo nocturno desde nuestro sitio de observación privado al aire libre ubicado en los cerros que rodean Vicuña.
Elegimos este lugar por la baja contaminación lumínica y sus excelentes condiciones para la observación astronómica.
Se trata de un Eco-Observatorio donde intentamos ejercer el menor impacto ambiental, dejando el lugar lo más natural posible.
Para la observación, disponemos de un gran telescopio profesional motorizado donde podemos observar diferentes objetos como planetas, nebulosas, cúmulos, estrellas binarias, etc. todo esto acompañado de un guía local especializado.
Ofrecemos tours en ingles, francés y castellano.
INFORMACIÓN DEL TOUR
- Observación en telescopio profesional motorizado.
- Observación a ojo desnudo.
- Traslado saliendo desde la agencia y retorno a lugar de alojamiento en el radio urbano de Vicuña (costo adicional).
- Posibilidad de traslado en caravana en tu propio vehículo hacia el lugar de observación (sin costo).
- Astrofotografía de recuerdo con cielo estrellado de fondo. Una foto por pareja o grupo familiar, según corresponda.
- Pisco Sour o Jugo.
- El horario varía según la temporada desde las 18:00 a las 21:00 hrs.
- Hora a confirmar según corresponda.
- La duración de la actividad es de aproximadamente 3 horas en total (incluyendo los traslados y la observación astronómica).
- El tour esta sujeto a las condiciones climáticas (nubes y humedad).
- La presencia de la luna, donde las condiciones varían según su ciclo, específicamente en luna creciente y luna llena donde vemos menos estrellas a ojo desnudo. La mejor época para ver las estrellas es cuando la luna está en fase de luna nueva, ya que el cielo está más oscuro y se pueden ver objetos celestes tenues.
- Los niños no deben visitar nuestro lugar de observación con zapatillas con luces.
- Lugar natural con poca intervención, para preservar la flora y la fauna existente.
- Tour desde la ciudad de Vicuña.
- Vestir ropa abrigada, ya que la temperatura desciende rápidamente durante la noche.
- Ir previamente al baño, existen baños públicos municipales a 200 metros de la agencia.
- No usar linternas con luces blancas durante la observación y bajar el brillo de sus celulares para no intervenir el proceso de adaptación a la oscuridad.

What a pleasure to have met Adeline and Lincoln!! Everything was perfect between the location and the magnificent, well-explained courses, not to mention the night under the stars with a huge telescope. Cycling was a great way to explore the valley without it being too physical, it was magnificent.
A superb experience, not to mention the fact that they also take the time to advise us, inform us and show us some unusual places to see and all this much better than a tourist office.

I can only recommend this agency: I did the longer downhill tour and had an amazing day. Adeline & Lincoln are super friendly, helpful and have the best tips where to get good Pisco, snacks and so on to make the day even nicer. The bikes are in very good condition, too!

Really lovely day cycling through the Elqui Valley thanks to the bikes and tour provided by Elki Magic! Great route that was explained really clearly with fun stops along the way. And not too challenging for a half day cycling. We had a lovely chat with the owner Adeline too

I had a brilliant day out in the Elqui Valley thanks to Elki Magic. It’s a family business run by a lovely couple, Adeline and Lincoln. They were really helpful when I asked if there were any tours going by car on the day I’d be in the valley. Adeline messaged me to let me know there was a space on the downhill cycling excursion, so I decided to sign up. The bikes were in great condition and I was given a helmet, bike lock, pump and a kit to repair any flat tyres (thankfully that wasn’t needed!)
Adeline gave clear instructions along with two useful maps and amazing recommendations of places to visit in the valley + some small businesses to support. The copao juice from Donde Juanito Primero was absolutely delicious!! A must-try.
I had such a nice day cycling in the sunshine, admiring the beautiful scenery and visiting villages, a brewery and a pisco distillery along the route. It’s the ideal way to spend a day in Valle del Elqui - I’m so glad I wasn’t stuck in a car - and I’d wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Excellent experience with Elki Magic. Adeline and Lincoln are running a fantastic little operation; super friendly, super efficient, super helpful, and super fun! Plus, they speak excellent French (Adeline is French!) and English.
We thoroughly enjoyed the downhill bike tour from Pisco Elqui and the stargazing tour too. The bikes were excellent, the directions and top tips on what to see and do along the way were brilliant, and of course the valley is beautiful!
The stargazing was really interesting, well informed, and felt very special. I particularly enjoyed the fact that it was a very small group of maximum nine of us, directly run by Adeline and Lincoln.
Apart from the tours, they also gave us lots of really helpful recommendations for accommodation, local self-led walks, and where to eat on a Sunday night when everything is shut! Huge thanks Adeline.

We did the downhill bicycle tour from Alcoguaz. We had a amazing day. Bikes are in good shape. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We visited the little towns on the way, the artesanal market in Horcon, did a pisco tour, swimming in the river and visited the brewery. Recommend this tour to explore the Elqui valley.
